This sets us up for failure. The tortoise takes small steps but does reach its goals more surely than the hare that rushes at the destination. The other thing that we know is that significant and meaningful change requires two things: 1. That it is undertaken with a balanced and resilient nervous system (meaning that we are not in a state of stress) - which is where our work with Conscious EFT builds a solid foundation for self-nurturing, clarity and change, and 2. Action. Not big steps, but small, regular steps that are taken consistently. These are actions we can achieve without going into stress. How many times have you decided to take a BIG action and when you try to do it, it simply is not possible. Or maybe you can do it once or twice but cant maintain it. When we choose BIG steps and find we can't achieve them, it means our nervous system is going into stress. For each of us, there will be smaller steps that we can do without being stressed, and the regular and consistent repetition of these steps trains our nervous system that it is possible to make change.
