I have always been interested in food and how we nourish ourselves, and have learned a great deal about nutrition from both mainstream and holistic perspectives. One of my motivators was the belief that if I knew what to eat, I would be thin, healthy and perfect. I did make some amazing health transformations over the last three decades, but I still lost and gained the same 50 pounds over and over again. My last exploration of ‘how to make myself perfect’ involved the study of raw food nutrition and preparing and eating living/raw foods, and I was raw vegan for over three years. But life can be challenging, and without a good emotional and energetic foundation, I could not stay perfect!
I now understand that I also need to nourish my nervous system so it can support a more inspired and healthy way of being. Emotional balance is the foundation of a healthy life which comes from nourishing our energy system as well as our physical body. That realization and understanding was the seed for the birth of Energy for Transformation. This work supports a gentle exploration and balance of one's emotional landscape, and helps create a safer space within, whereby one is able to transform the inner world to help create a more positive outer reality.
We are all energetic beings, so working only at the physical level is bound to leave all kinds of energetic debris that will trip us up eventually. There is a saying that “we are what we eat”, but we also eat what we are. I slid back into old eating habits and ways of coping with emotional stress, re-creating my former old energetic foundation.
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and other Energy Psychology practices has helped me to understand the bigger picture of nourishment and what I need. I found that these practices helped me regulate my nervous system to release stress and anxiety around everything, including food.
EFT helped me create an emotional space that was more open to inspiring possibilities, creativity and peace. Once we make friends with our nervous system, we can change all kinds of limiting beliefs and behaviour that have held us back. This has been my experience and is why I want to share this modality with you.
